X-Ray
Who: It is a test done for non pregnant women and for patients who are required by their doctor to check for any possible injuries or fractures in their head and neck area, upper and lower limbs and trunk area.
What: It is one of the most commonly used techniques for imaging internal structures of the body. An X-ray requires a small amount of radiation to visualize internal structures .
Why: It is an important tool to help and assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring patients' conditions.
When: It is recommended for patients to do X-ray for suspected fractures or injuries that causes or triggers pain on their body.
How: A picture is taken of the inside of the body by a machine which emits a small amount of radiation energy. The patient will be asked to stay still during the examination. Any motion can cause blurry images. They may also be asked to hold the breath or not move for a second or two when the image is being taken
